Yellowstone National Park Youth Campus

Walker Macy was part of the team that won a design competition to re-imagine the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Camp buildings and site. The YCC campsite is important both for park operations and for youth stewardship and outdoor education. The current YCC campsite is over-capacity and lacks livability. The new design includes building renovations and replacements and reconfigures the site to make it more context and climate-sensitive, and improves the social life and education of campers. The planned facilities be the setting where generations of future YCC campers have formative experiences in conservation, environmental science, and natural resource stewardship.
