U.S. Bancorp Tower Plaza

Known to Portlanders as “Big Pink,” U.S. Bancorp Tower is a downtown icon. Bordered by MAX light rail stops, and located across from the city’s first food cart pod, the plaza is always busy. Walker Macy’s design was coordinated with a comprehensive building upgrade and incorporates the pink granite tiles that were removed from the building into the bench and planter design. This project has re-energized the area and demonstrates the importance of revitalizing downtown Portland’s privately-owned public open spaces.
